Background
In 2014, Cub Scout Pack 163 was chartered by the Rotary Club of Milpitas. We were issued a charter by Scouting America. We are in the Coyote Creek District of the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council. We work closely with our Scouts BSA Troop 163 and Scouts BSA Troop 2163 to serve the students of Milpitas and North San Jose. Students from any school are welcome. Students from Burnett, Challenger, Crescent, Curtner, Galarza, Majestic, Mattos, Merryhill, Noble, Northwood, Orchard, Randall, Sinnott, and Stratford have been part of our pack.
Our Approach
We support the mission of Scouting America: To prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. The Pack contributes to the character development, citizenship training, mental and physical fitness of our young leaders. The Cub Scout motto is “Do your best.”
Pack 163 is family-oriented and family-led. We serve both boys and girls, from kindergarten through 5th grade. We believe we can build a stronger pack by being inclusive and utilizing the diverse talents, knowledge, resources and cultures of our scouting families and, therefore, offering the best scouting program possible.
Awards
Since 2016, our Pack has regularly earned the Journey to Excellence Gold Unit Award, recognizing the Pack for delivering an exceptionally successful Scouting program.
Meetings
Scouts in grades 1 to 5 meet every Monday 6:30pm at John Sinnott Elementary School on Yosemite Avenue. Scouts in kindergarten meet twice a month. We align with the Milpitas Unified School District calendar and do not meet on holidays. One of the meetings each month is a Pack Meeting with awards and special activities. Check out our calendar for other events.
The red pin marks our meeting location on campus.
